Most leadership development changes what leaders know.
Leadership Trust changes how they lead.
Leadership in Management (LM), is Leadership Trust’s flagship programme for experienced leaders.
5 and a half days residential, 6 months of preparation and support, and a methodology built on one principle: lasting behavioural change only happens when leaders see themselves clearly under the experience of real pressure.
Next residential: May 2026 — places are limited
You already know what good leadership looks like.
The gap isn’t knowledge – it’s behaviour.
Most experienced leaders have been on courses, read the books, know the frameworks and still notice the same moments. Avoiding the conversation that needs to happen and losing the room when the pressure is on.
Some come to LM because something specific needs to shift. Others come because they want to understand exactly how they lead and who they’re capable of becoming.
Either way, what LM delivers is the same: the unfiltered truth about how you lead, from people who have experienced it directly.
Five and a half days that transform the years that follow.
LM takes leaders out of their normal environment entirely. No office. No title. No hierarchy to hide behind.
What replaces it: real pressure situations, outdoor challenge, and a group of peers from across sectors who will experience your leadership directly and tell you, honestly, what they see.
The feedback doesn’t come from a facilitator’s notes. It comes from people you have led, in real time, under pressure. That is what makes it land differently from anything else.
Behavioural science runs through the whole experience. Trained facilitators hold the space. Theory is introduced after experience, not before it. When a leader has lived something, the insight has somewhere to go. Change is measured before and after through structured peer assessment, so leaders and the organisations investing in them can see exactly what has shifted. And the six months that follow, one-to-one coaching, peer support, structured embedding, are where the change becomes permanent.
The programme takes place at Chelsea Parkfields, our residential estate in Herefordshire. Away from the office, home and all the usual distractions.
What leaders take back to work isn’t a plan.
It’s a different way of showing up.
The changes that happen here are visible to the people being led, not just self-reported by the leader
Organisations that invest in LM see:
Teams that take more ownership, because the leader has stopped taking it from them.
Decisions made faster and with more conviction, because the leader understands their own patterns under pressure.
Conversations that used to get avoided, now happening earlier, before they become expensive.
A leader whose teams want to follow them. Not because they have to. Because of how it feels.
WashCo grew from £12m to £18m in turnover following leadership development with Leadership Trust.
Hart Security measured significant cost savings.
The return on investment is not 1:1. It is 1:many.
One changed leader changes dozens of people‘s daily experience of work.
There is no other programme like this in the UK.
Business schools teach theory. Outdoor providers build resilience. Coaches develop insight. Consultancies recommend alignment.
LM does all of it, in one programme, in the right sequence.
No other open programme in the UK combines immersive residential, outdoor challenge, behavioural psychology, structured peer feedback and a six-month support arc.
We have been doing this for fifty years, founded by an SAS officer and a psychologist who believed leadership could only be learned under real pressure.
Let’s talk.
LM is for experienced leaders who are ready to be honest about the gap, and organisations serious enough about performance to invest in closing it. Not first-time managers finding their feet. Leaders with responsibility, track record, and the self-awareness to know there is further to go.
If you’re considering LM for yourself or for someone in your organisation, the right first step is a conversation. Call or email us directly. We’ll tell you honestly whether it’s the right fit, what the programme involves, and what to expect.
